Board Members

Sgt. Ryan Kiefer began his sworn law enforcement career in January 2005 with the Livermore Police Department before joining the San Ramon Police Department in October 2020. Sgt. Kiefer has experience as a patrol officer and patrol sergeant, plain-clothes narcotics and gang detective, general crimes detective and detective sergeant, federal narcotics task force officer, Field Training Officer, Use of Force, Firearms, Less-Lethal Munitions, and Chemical Agents Instructor, SWAT operator, SWAT Sniper, and SWAT Sniper Unit Assistant Team Leader. Sgt. Kiefer has served on the Police Association of San Ramon’s board since 2022, holding the positions of Board Member At Large, Vice President, and President.

Sgt. Rick Gonzalez began his sworn law enforcement career in 2002 with the Contra Costa County office of the Sheriff before joining the San Ramon Police Department in 2010. Sgt. Gonzalez has experience as a custody deputy, patrol deputy/officer and patrol sergeant. His previous assignments/duties include FTO, K9 Handler, Crisis Negotiator, and defensive tactics instructor. Sgt. Gonzalez is currently a driver awareness instructor and a Drone Pilot for the Central County Swat Team. Sgt. Gonzalez has served on the Police Association of San Ramon's board since 2023 holding the position of Board Member At Large.
